Well whoa. Today was CRAZY.
First...I had to wake up before my usual time of about noon on my days off so that I could go to a taping of The Dish. You know, that show Danielle Fishel (aka TOPANGA) hosts on the Style network? It was so cool! It was in this itty bitty studio with just a green screen. So yeah, she's not really even on a set, just standing in front of a green screen! And I think that's the same studio they use to take The Soup, so yeah...green screen action again. Who would have known?! So anyways, it was so fun and interesting to see how they do things. I was sitting next to the writers and they would like change things in the script as they went along and Topanga would help them come up with things. And her hair & make up guy would run up to her and fix her little fly aways and stuff. So crazy being behind the scenes and seeing how all this stuff works. So yeah, that only took about an hour and then we were free to leave! I should have stayed around because I heard the Kardashians were in the building, but I didn't want to be a creeper and wander, hehe.
Well this is where it really gets interesting. I stopped in one of the restaurants across the street and got some lunch to go, and stroll the little path I take everyday to get to/from work. As I'm at the crosswalk that leads into my complex, I pass a man who looks as if he just finished working out cause he was in work out clothes and carrying a gym bag. So we smile at each other as we pass and the day goes on. Well as I reach the curb I hear this loud crash and I spin around the see the nice man ROLLING on the street and his gym bag flying. Then I realized...he was just HIT BY A CAR!!! I kinda just stood there and watched the driver of the car, another young fella, get out and he's clearly freaking. The man who was hit was coherent and wasn't visably bleeding, but I yelled to him if I should call someone and he was like YESSS. So I dial 911 (first timer there) but the man who hit the other man was also calling, as were two girls who stopped in a different car to help. Since I was on the other side of the street and he seemed to be taken care of, I just kinda speed walked away. Seriously...craziest thing I've ever seen. HOLY SMOKES.
And what's weird is just last night I was watching this show on VH1 called The OCD Project or something, and this girl had a fear of hitting pedestrians with her car. THANK GOD I don't have a car right now because I know I would probably develop that same fear. Ugh, imagine if you HIT someone with your CAR?! As B.Flint would say...10 points! Sicko.
Since it was barely 1 in the afternoon and all that crazy shizz happened, I called it a day and just hung around the apartment and read and napped. Summertime, I tell ya. It's glorious. Plan for tomorrow? Oh you know, picking up some things at KMart (yeah we have those here?) and lounging by the pool. Life is hard, I tell ya. ;)
Over and out,
Nicole
