We got more bounce in California

Hiya!

Well, my second work week is finished - 10 more to go! It seems like it's going to go really quickly already!

I'm still adjusting to this whole being COMPLETELY independent thing. Again...walking everywhere sucks. I have blisters on the BOTTOMS of my feet? That hasn't happened since Bandos, haha! Not going to lie though, I really love going on little adventures on my own. The other day I walked to The Grove (outdoor mall like 10 minutes away) and shopped/checked out stores to possibly apply to for a job, and I stumbled across the movie theatre and decided to just waltz on in and catch Sex and the City 2, which was FABULOUS. It was dangerous to see that movie WHILE at a mall. The fashion...le sigh. Love it. I also checked out the Farmer's Market, which I thought was just going to be little stands of fruit and veggies. WAS I WRONG! It is SO COOL. There's all these little shops and food stands with every time of food you can think of! Chinese, Mexican, French pastries, seafood, Brazilian barbeque, etc. I've gone there twice so far to grab dinner, haha!

Work this week was pretty easy, since I only worked two days because of the holiday on Monday. I'll tell you though, I have got to get my sleeping schedule down. I have to be at work at 6 am on Wednesdays, so that means I have to wake up around 4:45. This poses a problem when I physically CAN'T go to sleep before 2! But luckily today went by pretty quickly, and I definitely had a Red Bull in hand. I don't know why, but I get so intimidated by all of the people at E! sometimes. I mean they're all super nice and helpful, but I'm still learning the ropes and feel like I'm slowing them down because they have to show me how to do everything. Meh, I guess that's what being an intern is all about, though. :)

Geez...I know I shouldn't be, but I'm already thinking about next summer. So many Thetas and other friends are traveling abroad right now and it just looks FANTASTIC. I'm seriously considering doing Baylor in Great Britain or something next summer. But then Bibbs is interning in Washington DC and I LOVE IT THERE, so that could be cool too! Oh the dilemmas of life, haha. I just feel like if I were to go abroad, the time is now because of the whole set up Baylor provides with their study abroad programs. Of course, if I marry a rich doctor or something I can probably just jet off for a long weekend to Italy or Paris, no big deal. ;)

Well, not going to lie, I'm getting little spats of homesickness now and then, but NO ONE is at home. I mean, my parents are, but they are probably coming out soon. At least my mom is, and then my parents are coming again in August to take me on home. My parents keep asking me if I want to come home for a weekend soon but ah, I just don't want to interrupt the flow I have going here, you know? Brit and Abbs come out here at the end of June, then Kayla is coming July 9th (and hopefully Laynie!), so my parents are thinking about coming June 18th-ish, which is perf because that's Father's Day! Blah blah blah now I'm just rambling. And I'm supposed to be a journalist, pah!

Hokay, I really have nothing else to talk about. OH except So You Think You Can Dance. SO INSPIRING. I've been wanting to so badly, but I am DEFINITELY going to take class at Millenium (where SYTYCD & DWTS rehearse, and where people like Janet, Britney, Justin, etc. rehearse and take class!) this week. So I'll be sure to update y'all on that experience.

Oh one more thing! I need some reading material. Summer is my reading time and since there's a faboosh pool here and some seriously great sun, I plan to spend my days by the pool reading. Right now I'm reading The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown, but I need some more because I'm going to finish it soon! Gimme ideas! :)

xoxo Nicole
