Lauren & Mark - Was this dance made for Mark or what? Haha! Mkay so it was entertaining and all...but all they did was shake their bons bons. I mean, it was enjoyable, but come on! The reason I watch this show is to scrutinize every little detail and since I am not schooled on Tahitian dance, I can do no such thing. Hehehe jk. Kinda. But yeah...um. Cool dance?
Adechike & Anya - Sheet, that dance looked like it was even too hard for Anya! Like Mia said, it was definitely bumpy. I get that the choreographers are trying to challenge the contestants, but if the dance isn't going to look good and clean then please make it easier! Adechike def stepped it up and gave it all he got, though. So I 'preciate it.
Jose & Courtney - Hokay. One of the things that bugs me SO BAD about this show is the Broadway pieces. Just because you're choreographing a dance to a song from a Broadway soundtrack, that does NOT make it a "Broadway piece". I LOVED THE CONCEPT OF THIS DANCE. THAT is Broadway! However...Jose disappointed. Even Courtney, too. I mean they were just kind moving around the stage. But seriously, the original concept and song choice and story were perfect. Sad that the dance wasn't the same.
Robert & Allison - Okay. I'm going to have to watch this piece again. I feel like I have no soul, but I wasn't amazed by it? If It Kills Me, Adam & Eve piece, Addiction...now those amazed me. I really really love dances with meaningful story lines, but idk. I just didn't really feel anything. Allison's hair was distracting as all hell, also. BUT yes, their DANCING was breathtaking (especially Allison's...distracting in a good way!). I'm sure creating this was extremely therapeutic for Travis and Robert both, though...so I give Trav props on that and wish his mommy a speedy recovery from her surgery!
Billy & Anya - So yeah, I've been a bit of a Billy hater. But I surprisingly LOVED him on this! Also, Louis Van Amstel is mi favorito on DWTS, so that was a plus. I very much enjoyed this. Yes yes yes.
Kent & Neil - I could NOT take the pretty that was on that stage. OMG adorableeeeee. So fun and energetic and WHOOOO I just wanted to do cartwheels and jumping jacks after watching it. Again, fun fun fun. Also, props Tyce, one of the better Broadways you've done.
Lauren & Billy - I'm gonna go ahead and call it. This coming competition season, I am going to see...I'm gonna say oh, twelve...solos/duets/team dances that involve that song and shoes. BUT I LOVED IT. Soooo cute. Again, what's with me loving Billy? But yes, I thought it was adorbs and loved the groovy funky swanky style.
Jose & Dominic - Okay, kids. Here's my problem with Jose. Would they have given Melinda a tapping piece? No. When he did the Broadway, the judges kept saying "we've taken your personality away and saw your real dancing and it wasn't good". Well no shit. I'm sorry, Jose is precious and you can tell he is so eager to learn, but he is just not on the same level as the rest of the dancers. Back in the day, this show WAS about taking diamond-in-the-rough dancers, taking them out of their comfort zones, and those dancers exceling. How are the judges going to do just that, but then be like "oh it's okay, you can redeem yourself with your b-boy piece". FOOLS. This show is about growing and learning and doing DIFFERENT styles! It just made me so mad. All of the other contestants are doing fine outside of their styles, but Jose just isn't. So yes...time for you to go, brotha. And I'm sorry...but he wasn't even that good in his breaking routine. Dom totally outshined him.
Kent & Adechike - I think this piece and Boogie Shoes were my favorites of the night. Idk why, but I just LOVED this piece! You can really see Kent growing before our eyes, and I love that. And Adechike is stepping it up, too. I would too if Mia bitched me out like that last week, though. Anyways...loved the story, loved the fact that you could FOLLOW the story being told, loved the dancing with the prop. Greatness. Bravo.
Robert & Kathryn - I mean...it's disco. Cute? Fun? Yeah sure. That's all though. Robert's still pretty.
Anywho...I'm going to go and re-watch If It Kills Me 2.0 now. :)
